The entire market populace of Moshood Abiola polytechnic has been thrown into mourning following the demise of one of its traders simply identified as mummy Ife.
Sequel to this, members of the Market and Traders Asociation, Kudirat Abiola Market have declared closure of all market stores on Friday 5th of June to honour the deceased.
Mummy Ife who sold food to students at the Kudirat Abiola Market was said to have been bed ridden for a while before she surrendered to the cold hands of death in the early hours of Thursday.
Announcing the demise, the MAPOLY Students Union in a statement jointly signed by the president and PRO, Samson Omoniyi and Johnson Idowu, students are advised to find alternatives to whatever they’ll need from the market for the time being.
The statement reads, "Members of the Market and Traders Asociation, Kudirat Abiola Market has state their intention not to operate tomorrow as a way of paying last respect to one of their member who was reported dead in the early hours of today.
"The demise member who is popular as mummy Ife was said to have being admitted over a brief illness that eventually led her death.
"Students are therefore advise to purchase and carry out any services they might need on campus tomorrow before coming to school.
"The Students’ Union wants to assure the entire students populace of its commitment to serving them better."
