…set dates for exams, elections
…as its expects to end session within 5weeks

Having reached a consensus and resolving to the barest minimum the crisis rocking the institution, the management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic has announced the recommencement of the 2017/2018 academic session which is expected to begin in March 11, 2019.
The school’s management in the same vein slated March 25, 2019 for the 2017/2018 second semester examination.
This is coming after the authorities of the school had reached a resolution at the Academic Board meeting held on Thursday 7th March 2019 and had reviewed the academic calendar to continue with the session.
The semester which started about August-September 2018 encountered devleopeing challenges which wrapped around the Management, Staffs and State government disagreement. This in turn resulted into measures like protest, work-to-rule strike actions, pseudo lectures and delay in examination.
In the release sent by polytechnic Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, he said, ” Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, after reviewing the academic calendar for the second semester 2017/2018 session, have approved Monday 25th of March, 2019 for the commencement of the 2nd semester examination for all categories of students of the institution.
“This was the resolution at the Academic Board meeting held on Thursday, 7th March 2019. The board also approved two weeks between 11th and 23rd of March, 2019 for revision and completion of registration for the semester in preparation for the examination.
“The examination would be undertaken by all categories of students, is only intended for those who have completed registration for the semester.”
Meanwhile, the school management has also approved the conduction for another Student Union Election would hold Thursday, March 10th 2019 after the elections had been earlier postponed from December 6th 2018 till further notice after encountering electoral crisis.
The school is expected to run the conclusion of the semester within 5weeks to commence the new 2018/2019 academic session on Monday 15th 2019.

The release reads further: "In addition, the Board approved that, all fresh students have, between Monday, 11th March and Saturday, 13th April, 2019, to complete their registrations to forestall forfeiture of admission.
" The Board also announced March 28, 2019 as tentative date for the 2018/2019 academic session matriculation."
However, the Polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. Samson Odedina, urged all students to do the needful and get themselves prepared for the tasks ahead.
