A group of students union aspirants, has today writes to the acting Rector of the institution, Mr Salimon Tella through the office of students’ affairs directorate over the exclusion of students’ union election date from the newly released academic calendar for the session.
According to the four paragraphs appeal letter, which was made available to PRESS CLUB MAPOLY, the students union aspirants express shock and dissatisfaction as the new academic calendar never recognized the students union election.
The letter read in parts, " In response to the newly released academic calendar, we students union aspirants assume that the school management has not put into consideration the students major agitation ( Students’ Union Election stated for 2017/2018 academic session) and which seems to limit the right of the students ".
It would be recalled that the appeal letter is coming in six days after the institution authorities released the new approved academic calendar for the 2017/2018 session.
The letter reads further, " Imperially, to all aspirants we strongly believe that the school management unknowingly exclude the students’ union election from the just released academic calendar ".
However, the group in the letter consequently write to appeal and draw attention of the management to the raised issue as they anticipate a positive and quick response from the authorities.
The letter which was jointly signed by all students aspirants with names and matric numbers included also copied the office of the Registrar, office of the Public relations unit , and Press Club MAPOLY, who are expected to be aware of the recent development.
