MAPOLY SUG To Revive Social Life On Campus Through Beauty Pageant

The Students Union President, Comr.Sodiq Ajani, in a press briefing yesterday with Press Club MAPOLY has said that the student representative body in its bid to revive social activities on campus is coming up with its maiden edition of the beauty pageant competition

The pageant which will cut across all levels and departments in the school is fixed for N2000 as the registration fee.

Optimum, however, disclosed the modality which the pageant will take.

He said, "the beauty pageant will be in different stages where contestants will be required to present themselves for screening before several panelists who will access them. And that contestants will be shortlisted based on the number of votes cast."

"The contestants will thereafter be asked to do a video recording of some certain tasks . Eventually, three contestants will be presented on the final day which will fall during the SUG week". He stated.

Meanwhile, the price for the three runners-up includes: the winner takes N100,000; the first runner-up takes N50,000; the second runner-up takes away N25,000 respectively.

Responding to whether the administration has any other programs for the semester, Optimum said "let me stylishly inform you that we are planning a talent hunt program because MAPOLY is full of talents, I don’t know why it has not been happening for about three sessions ago."

Also speaking in the area of sports, the SUG president said that registration for the SUG football competition will commence very soon.

However, the president noted that before the SUG Cup will commence, Departmental presidents will sign an undertaking, promising not to disrupt the competition and anyone found wanting, shall be expelled.

Optimum, therefore, encouraged the female students to register for the competition stating that beauty goes beyond wearing clothes that reveals cleavages but more about what a lady has to offer.
