The Student Union Government of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic and the Representative of the Stuttle Driver has met the Directorate to reduce the financial burden on the student of the school on transportation.
This was gathered from the press release that was signed by the President of SUG, comr. Adelola Hezekiah Babatunde and SUG PRO, comr. Bamidele Olasunkanmi Williams.
According to the statement, the fare price has come to normal as they warned against any form of exploitation from students in the guise of hike in fare.
The Union met with the Director for student affairs of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic on Thursday.
During the negotiation between the union and the school directorate of students affair on Thursday inside the DSA office.
Also, shuttle drivers were given a 24-hour ultimatum to return the transport fare to the previous rate of #80 per student and #150 for two students.
However, the union said they understand that the hike in transport fares has caused a lot of difficulties for many students.
“We understand that this hike in fare was causing difficulties for many students and we are pleased to announce that this issue has been resolved. We would like to remind the student body that the Students Union is always available to represent and advocate for their rights and welfare”
In the same vein, it was stressed that all students should report any form of exploitation or harassment to the SUG or DSA for prompt reactions.
