…Rector charges students to be peaceful

The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has disclosed that the students’ union election which is expected to hold on Friday May 18, 2018, will be conducted through electronic voting.
This was disclosed in a Press Release issued on Tuesday by the new Public Relations Officer of the school, Yemi Ajibola.
It would be noted that the management lifted the ban on Students’ Union on Friday May 10, and set new dates for the manifesto and election.
The Release reads in part, “Sequel to the lift of the ban on activities of the Students Union, the Management has approved the election into Executive positions of the Union for the 2017/2018 academic session.
“The election, which will be through e-voting, shall hold on Friday, 18th May, 2018 by 8:30am at the ICT Center of the Institution while the Manifesto will hold on Thursday, 17th May, 2018 at the O.G.D Auditorium by 9:30am.”
In the same vein, the Acting Rector of the school, Ayodeji Tella has called on students and staff of the polytechnic to maintain peace and orderliness throughout the period of the election.
Tella however vowed that the management would not hesitate to punish any student that disrupts the school peace and violate electoral rules.
