Moshood Abiola Polytechnic National Association of Marketing Student, has laid a foundation for state-of-the-art building.
The foundation which was laid in the school premises close to Jibodu hall was tagged a legacy project facilitated to support the marketing department, School of Business and Management study as a whole as stated by the school public relation’s officer ,Dr. Yemi Ajibola.
Present at the occasion was the Acting Rector of the school, Dr Adeoye Odedeji who expressed his happiness towards the development and as well appreciated the effort of old students who have contributed to the development of the school.
Dr. Odedeji while laying the foundation of marketers legacy building being embarked upon by the 1994 marketing department alumni set of the institution, maintained that the 1994 alumni set is changing the narrative with the outstanding legacy being put in place by them.
He, however ,stated that while the government is trying its best in the areas of improving the quality of education for its citizens, the responsibility should not be left on the government’s shoulders alone and it should therefore be laudable whenever well to do individuals, development partners especially the alumni complete government efforts in this regard.
Similarly, the head of marketing department, Dr Olawale Adetunji commended the 1994 marketing alumni set for their remarkable achievement in the school.
Meanwhile, the architect handling the project who is also an alumnus of the school, Architect Olufemi Fabiyi explained that the building will meet up with the current trend of the society and as well meet up with the needs and expectations of the students, lecturers, and other members of staff of the department.
He further explained how the 80 million naira worth project was envisioned by the 1994 set as a way of giving back to their Alma mater.
The president of the 1994 set,Mr Adeyanju Adelakun informed that the building will have an e-library, seminar hall, banking hall, lecturers office, supermarket amongst others will be completed by December,2022 and not be an abandoned project.
