
… DSA probes further into SUELECO process
The mass communication acting head of department, Dr Wasiu Tejuoso has confirmed that the Students’ Electoral Committee, SUELECO, candidate, Emmanuel Michael, signed his screening form late.
Dr Tejuoso, on Thursday, while speaking with Press Club MAPOLY, PCM crew stressed that Michael signed his form on Wednesday, a day after the screening process took place.
According to a release by the SUELECO screening committee, no mercy will be given to anyone who submitted their form late or didn’t meet the requirements.
However, as gathered, Michael, who had his form not signed by his HOD on Tuesday was announced as a qualified member of the SUELECO on Wednesday, the day he just got his form acknowledged by his department.
The HOD said, “I am aware that they have finished the screening. The guy brought his form yesterday and I confirmed he’s a student of Mass Communication, so I signed for him and because of the delicacy of the issue based on the knowledge I have, I signed that form yesterday and I put yesterday’s date. I didn’t only sign it, I deliberately took the picture of the form.
“So I can tell you I signed the form and I signed it yesterday evening.”

Reacting to this, the Director of Students’ Affairs, Dr David Aninkan has said he would continue to probe the SUELECO process.
In his words, he has asked the screening committee to submit all files for cross checking, adding that anyone who’s found guilty will be removed.
He also spoke on his efforts in making sure the election doesn’t exceed the month of February for proper running of the year’s calendar.
He therefore sought the cooperation of every students, including PCM, in making the Students’ Union Government election successful.
