Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji has admonished students of the institution to utilize the training on ‘Skills Development for Youth Employment’ (SKYE) organized by German International Development Cooperation as the management is keen on empowering students as employers of labor.
The press club gathered this information from the press statement signed by the head of the institution PRO, Yemi Ajibola.
The Rector implored the students to take advantage of soft skill acquisition alongside obtaining degrees.
His words: “About 300 students across all departments have been meritoriously selected to participate in the 2-day training in three different cohorts with 100 participants per session”
Furthermore, the Director of the Center for Skills Acquisition and Vocational Training of the institution, Engr. (Dr) Ahmed Apampa revealed that the training is a platform for students to boost their academic standards.
“The initiative of employability skills training is an avenue for capacity building for the students and a boost for academic standard”
This is a laudable one.
