Akindipe Odunola Emmanuel P.k.a Codak has emerged the new President of The National Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) Moshood Abiola Polytechnic chapter with a total of 129 votes.
In an election conducted on Friday, the President-elect polled a total of 129 votes to beat his opponent Olanrewaju Oluwaseyi (Seyiman) who had 92 votes.
Other elected executives include; Oladapo Kehinde(Kenny) Welfare Director-elect, Adeleye Adewale(Adegold) Treasurer-elect, Ogunsemowo Samuel(Samora) Social Director-elect, Popoola Dorcas(Ubuntu) as General Secretary- elect and others.
The election was closely monitored by; agents of aspirants, NACOSSECO staff Adviser, Mr Ganiu Oladimeji, The Head of Department, NACOSS National, President amongst others.
Speaking with PRESS CLUB MAPOLY, the National President of NACOSS, Comrade Olamilekan Abolade described the election as free and fair.
Olamilekan charged the chapter to opt for an E-election in subsequent elections.
“I have already talk to them, this physical election should stop, they should look at what technology has in stock for us.Technology has a lot for us, they can go for e-voting which is the most genuine and the election that has integrity because you didn’t know who is who”.
The election results were verified and publicly announced by the National Association of Computer Science Students Electoral Committee (NACOSSECO).
The department’s Ex-Sports Director, Samson Abiodun stated that the election was free and fair as tension was about to clog the wheel of the electoral process at the beginning.
Also, a student of the department identified as Paul favour also said that the electoral process was fair enough and the whole process was justified.
