The National Association of Science Laboratory Technology Students (NASTES) Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta have on Wednesday elected, Prayer Adebanjo A.k.A masterly as their new President.
Adebanjo popularly known as masterly emerged as the President-elect with 513 votes, to beat his two other opponents, ThankGod Vincent( Vincent HOC) who polled 143 and Folarin Tomiwa (Authority) who had 17 votes.
Bolarinwa Ayomide A.k.A Midey Gold emerged unopposed as the Vice President 1 while Hakeem Hamzat emerged the Vice President 2 to beat Amujo Godwin his rival opponent who polled 138.
Other elected executives include; Nuru Abdulhakeem(NABAT) as the PRO- elect with 532 votes; Olaonipekun Fathia(Sunshine) Assistant General Secretary elect- with 425 votes, Idrinojo Goodness (Goodygoody) unopposed as the General Secretary-elect with 641 votes.
Fayepitan Olayemi(solution) Financial Secretary-elect with 536 votes, Temitope Taiwo(Teester) Sport Director- elect with 389 votes; Ogunlade Balqis(Ajoke) welfare Director-elect with 469 votes; Azeez Omobolahan (ZED) Treasurer-elect unopposed with 658 votes and Ibitoye Benjamin, (Benfoster ) Social Director-elect with 473.
Speaking with Press Club MAPOLY after the election, the National Association of Science Laboratory Technology Electoral Committee (NASTECO) Chairman, Oluwagbenga Adebayo thank God for the successful conduct of the election describing it as free and fair.
“The election was free and fair and the agents here signed and attested to it that it was free and fair.There was no mismanagement of duties, everybody did everything free and fair.
“I didn’t face any challenge as the security agents on ground were due to the task.We thank God that everything went properly.”
Students of the department who spoke with PCM also confirmed that the election was peaceful and fair.
Wisdom Okorolo, a Microbiology student said” The election was okay it’s fair it was alright. From the activities in school already we know those who were suppose to emerge it was a fair one.
“Masterly has been there for everyone including the ND student even before they resume he has done alot of things Am one of his friends that helped him printed past questions to the students.”
Another student of the department identified as Grace Ufomo stated the election was well organized.
The election was supervised and monitored by the department HOD, Dr. Mrs Taiwo, Director of student affairs, Dr. Olusegun Anikan, security officials amongst others.
