Commissioner for Youths and Sports in Ogun State, Hon. Moruf Afuape on Thursday promised ‘full support’ for the development of youths in the state.

The Commissioner stated this while receiving the State Executive Director of African Youths Entrepreneurs (AYE), Joseph Adefisioye at his office in Abeokuta.

Afuape said his ministry is set out to ensure youths in the state are developed and empowered.

He said his ministry has ‘no choice’ but to look into how to develop and encourage the youth in the state.

Afuape also promised full support for the State Director, AYE to work together with the organisation so as to develop youths in the state.

“It is something we should be proud of. Some people have written of MAPOLY in virtually anything positive. For this thing (your appointment) to come at this time, it shows that the school has what it takes to make people who will turn things around.

“Without mincing words, I want to congratulate, the State Executive Director, I want to congratulate the youth of Ogun State and I want to congratulate Moshood Abiola Polytechnic for this wonderful person that has made everybody proud.
As the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, I am very delighted. And on behalf of the youth of this state and the state government, I say congratulations to you.

“This point in time comes with challenges and you have to prove that you deserved this position. That means you will have to work. Even though you are an hard working guy, you’ll have to work harder.

“It is a challenge you should continue to prove, it is not just at the state, you can go national, continental etc. because I know that you have invested so much time and energy in bringing the best out of the youth in the state.

“As I know you are doing it for doing sake, God will surely reward you. I have known you to be a very focus and diligent person. I feel very proud of you today.

“We don’t have choice because that is one of our focus too. We have many things in stock and we would work together. I will bring you into a committee that we would setup to look at what we can do to our youths and how we can get the best out of them.

“But my major concern is that I don’t want them to be trained alone without giving them equipment to work with. You only get them empowered when you give them equipment to work with.

“Whatever we want to do, we will look at how to get them equipment to work with at a minimal cost that would be beneficial to many people. So, we will need to work together and I am promising to get the best out of our youths in this state.”

Adefisioye who was delighted at his reception thanked the commissioner for the support showed towards the project.

Adefisioye is who is an undergraduate of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, (MAPOLY) Abeokuta said all is set to use AYE to conquer recession in country.
