Former President of Press Club Mapoly (PCM) and Pulse Sport Nigerian’s reporter, Hassan Abdulsalam has been appointed as one of the 12 elite list of International Young Reporters to cover the Chengdu 2021 International Universities sports Federation (FLSU) world University Games in China.
This information was gathered from a news dropped by Pulse Sports news on Friday.
The announcement was also made by the FLSU ahead of the FLUS young reporters programme (YRP) scheduled to hold from July 28 to August 8, 2023.
It was further gathered that the YRP, in partnership with the International sport Press Association (ALPS), will help Hassan and other selected participants in covering the competition on all of FLSU’s platforms.
Also, the selected participants for YRP are expected to contribute by doing daily recaps, features articles, social media content and television interview.
However, the participants will acquire a broader experience to enhance their skills which would boost their beginning in journalism or their digital media career.
Reacting to this, Abdulsalam appreciated Press Club Mapoly, adding that gave him the background knowledge, which made what he has achieved so far.
He also appreciated the YRP for giving him the opportunity, adding that he is looking forward to gaining more as he is also eager to contribute his skills to the programme.
“I am truly honoured to be a part of the Young Reporters Programme in China, and I am looking forward to the enriching experiences and valuable learning opportunities it will bring,” Abdulsalam said to FISU following the announcement.
“I am eager to contribute my skills and passion to the programme,” he added.
