Press Club Mapoly has unveiled the list of nominees who will be competing for the campus journalism award at the forthcoming Ogun State Campus Journalism Summit.
The Summit which is said to be a grand gathering of students journalists across institutions in Ogun state is recognized and applauded for its role in raising, teaching, and encouraging the practice of campus journalism among students in tertiary institutions in the state.
The nominees for this year award will have to scale through the voting process and the jury’s evaluation of their works.
Speaking on the award process and ceremony, the Chairman, Planning Committee for the Summit, Adebayo Taiwo said that an independent jury has been constituted to adjudge all nominees and their submitted entry as one of the criteria for the award.
He said, "We have selected some distinguished media personalities some of which are our speakers for the summit, and so they will be assessing each writer’s entry for the competition.
"Also, the voting process will take place on the club’s Instagram handle, where each writer will have their well-wishers vote for them by following our handle, drop the name of their favorites nominee under each category, and tag two of their friends. And from there, we will select those with the highest votes, whose works will then be assessed by the jury."
