The editor of Press Clubs Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Abeokuta, Fawaz Adebisi has gained national recognition after winning the first edition of the Penpushing Media Award competition organized for students nationwide.
The contest, organized as part of the 7th Anniversary Lecture of Penpushing Media, was themed “Reworking Nigeria’s Federalism: Perspectives to Restructuring – The Future of Fiscal Federalism.” Renowned development expert and founder of Human Capital Africa, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, delivered the keynote address at the event.
Adebisi, who’s also a final-year Mass Communication student at MAPOLY, emerged as the overall winner, earning the prestigious gold medal. His colleague, Olaitan Boluwatife, also in HND II, secured third place and won the bronze medal. Crescent University claimed the second spot, taking home the silver medal.
The competition drew participation from Institutions offering Mass Communication and related disciplines across Southwest Nigeria, including the University of Ibadan (UI), Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), DS Adegbenro Polytechnic, Crescent University, Federal College of Education (FCE) Osiele, Harvarde School of Management Studies, among others.
Founder of Penpushing Media, Mr. Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, applauded all participating students for their efforts and creativity. He gave special praise to MAPOLY’s Fawaz Adebisi, describing his performance as a reflection of the polytechnic’s strong tradition of excellence in media education.
Kayode-Adedeji further revealed plans to institutionalize the award as a recurring highlight of future Penpushing Media anniversary lectures.
