…set to give MAPAITES opportunities on air
As part of efforts to give its members professional exposure and experience, Press Club MAPOLY has entered into a partnership with two broadcast giants in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The broadcast giants are Splash FM 106.7 and Sweet FM 107.1.
Press Club MAPOLY met with the management of both stations and they both expressed their willingness to partner the club.
For Sweet FM, the head of management, Lauara Norah said that she loves the proposal, adding that she is in support of training the members of the club.
She said, “You don’t buy experience, you acquire it.”
On the part of Splash FM, the head of station, Mr. Olaniyi Gboyega said that they are interested in the goals of young journalists, noting that he as well started from campus and understands the importance of building the young ones.
He said, “We are interested in the goals of young journalists. I started from campus and we need to build on the young ones.
“We are very accommodating here. We are assuming that you will help to give your members the necessary trainings for them to excel in the broadcast media.”
In his reaction, the President Press Club MAPOLY, Hassan Abdulsalam appreciated both stations, vowing that its members will maximize the opportunities to be better in the broadcast media.
“We appreciate the gesture of Splash FM and Sweet FM. This will go a long way in producing talents for the broadcast world. We will surely maximize the opportunity and leverage on it," Hassan said.
