Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY will head to the polls next week to elect their representatives into the Students’ Representative Council, SRC, as the Students’ Union Electoral Committee (SUELECO) officially rolls out forms for sale.
In a press statement released on February 10, SUELECO announced that the election process has been approved by the Directorate of Student Affairs and will follow a structured timeline to ensure transparency and fairness.
According to the statement, the sale of nomination forms commenced on Tuesday, February 11, and will run until Friday, February 14, 2025.
Interested candidates must submit their completed forms by Tuesday, February 18, 2025, after which a screening exercise will be conducted on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
As stated, the election is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
SUELECO also emphasized that forms will be available on the official portal and will be sold at a non-refundable fee of ₦3,000, adding that further notifications will be issued once the forms are fully accessible.
Through the release, the committee assured students that the electoral process would be free, fair, and transparent, with a commitment to ensuring that every candidate has an equal opportunity to campaign while students can vote without fear, bias, or intimidation.
“We are committed to conducting a fair and transparent electoral process that allows every eligible student to participate without fear, bias, or intimidation. Our goal is to ensure that each candidate has an equal opportunity to present his/her vision and that every vote cast reflects the true will of the students,” the statement read.
Students are therefore urged to stay informed and actively participate in the process to shape the leadership of the SRC for the 2024/25 academic session.
