The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic chapter, has told the management of the institution that its members won’t participate in the rescheduling of the second-semester examination until their demands are met.

The Union, under the aegis of Osifalujo Babatunde, On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, held an emergency congress to deliberate on the issues facing the Union.
According to the union, the reason for the emergency meeting "is the failure of the state government, the governing council, and management to effectively address the issue of increased funding of the institution. Specifically, the reluctance of the government to fully commit to the financing of this citadel of learning.
"The politicization of the newly introduced but hurriedly canceled registration fees for the potential new students.
"Nonremittance of staff pension deduction to pension fund administrators which presently has accumulated to 53 months outstanding, excluding the deduction for June and July 2022, which the Rector promised but failed to remit.
"Nonpayment of part-time claims and allowances for several semesters.
"Also, the consistent delay in the payment of staff salaries and allowances.
"And lastly, refusal of management to refund accumulated deduction from monthly salaries of some of their union members for Federal Housing Scheme, having failed to remit as appropriate over the years."
Having cited its complaints, it, therefore, concluded that no academic staff would further participate in the 2nd semester 2022 examination until their demands are duly met.
It reads, "Therefore, having deliberated on the stated above, the union concluded, urging the Ogun State Government, Governing Council and the Management should urgently take necessary measures at ensuring the financial stability and sustainability of the institution, there should be an immediate remittance of all pending payments and allowances of the staff.
"Minimum payment of three semesters of part-time claims from the entire outstanding owed by the management.
"No academic staff should further participate in the rescheduled 2nd semester 2022 examination until our demands are duly met."
