Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) have expressed their concerns over unpreparedness for the upcoming 2024 examinations due to delayed results.
According to the Investigations conducted by the Press Club MAPOLY, many students, particularly from departments like Civil Engineering, Mass Communication Computer Science, and Electrical- Electronics amongst others are still awaiting the outcome of their previous two examinations. With less than two weeks until the upcoming exams, the uncertainty is disheartening.
Despite the release of a new academic calendar scheduling examinations to commence on May 13th, students are anxiously awaiting their results from the previous year.
The delay in result publication is having serious consequences for students. Without knowing their previous semester’s results, many find it difficult to enter the examination hall with confidence.
Moreover, the chaotic state of the campus is affecting academic activities. Students are struggling to determine if they need to retake courses, which could potentially lead to re-registration and additional years of study if not managed promptly.
In contrast, students from institutions like Ede and Kwara Polytechnics have already commenced their second-semester examinations because their first-semester results were released on time.
During discussions, concerns were raised by HND2 students, particularly about their parents questioning their enrollment due to the absence of evidence of their academic progress from the previous year.
The Press Club MAPOLY appeals to all management offices responsible for examination results and records to promptly release the first-year first-semester results for both ND2 and HND2 students before the commencement of the first semester examinations on May 13th, 2024.
We urge the management to take swift action to address this issue and alleviate the stress and uncertainty faced by the student body.
