Department of Business Administration emerged victorious with two goals to defeat the Computer Science team in the Students’ Union football competition.
The exciting match took place at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, sports center following the Isese public holiday, and kicked off at exactly 3:14 pm, on Tuesday.
The Computer Science team put up a valiant effort, executing two corner kicks, five throw-ins, and four free kicks throughout the game. They also managed to keep their discipline on the field, receiving zero red cards and just one yellow card.
On the other side, the Business Administration team showcased their skills with one offside call, five throw-ins, and six free kicks. Their disciplined play was evident, as they avoided any red or yellow card penalties.
The match’s first goal came from the Business Administration team, as Abiodun Salazar displayed exceptional heading skills and secured the lead. Later in the game, Quadri Oyesanya sealed their victory with a penalty goal in the second half.
Computer Science’s goal was expertly executed by Peter Ohazurilke during the first half of the match, keeping the competition intense and engaging.
As the match reached its closing moments, drama ensued as the Business Administration team’s goalkeeper inadvertently injured a Computer Science striker within the 18-yard box. The referee awarded a penalty to the Computer Science team, but unfortunately, they were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.
The Governor Dapo Abiodun Cup has provided an enthralling battle between the Business Administration and Computer Science teams with a final score of 2-1.
