The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic has warned students, clubs, departments and associations over mounting of unauthorised billboards and posters on campus.
The warning was issued by the Coordinator of the Quality Assurance Unit and the Chairman of the Standard and Procedures Committee, O. A. Sojobi.
According to him, all associations are to get approval before they mount anything on campus, adding that all boards without approval will be removed soon.
In his words, "There is a committee constituted by the management called Standards and Procedures committee which is in charge of consecrating approval of advertisement. Advertisement can come in different forms. It could be bill boards, it could be banners, even posters. Now that we are in Student Union election period, we don’t just want to be seeing posters on campus. You have to apply that you want to place a billboard or posters in a place. There’s a designated form for that."
Sojobi further said that they only deal with registered associations on campus.
"We deal only with approved and recognized registered clubs in MAPOLY, so they should follow due process by approaching the Quality Assurance unit to obtain the prescribed form and complete the form, so we can treat the form appropriately," he said
He added that those who erected boards but didn’t go through it the right way can still make corrections.
"Those who may have done the wrong thing still have opportunity to do the proper thing by still coming around to obtain the form and if we, in our opinion, we have no objection where they have placed their adverts and the content of the advert is not oppressive or what have you, then the committee may still approve the placement. Otherwise, very soon we are going to remove all unauthorized adverts," he concluded.
