The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic chapter has advised students to be diligent with their studies alongside learning Islamic knowledge.
The Muslim group said this at the end of its orientation program on Wednesday organized for the new students on campus.
The program titled: "Islam and Western Education: The Compromise" aimed to be an epic to the new students.
The Muslim group stated that the rudiments of the program was to enlighten the students on how to combine both western education, which is their main aim in school with Islamic knowledge, which is about their religion.
Speaking, the leader of the group, Abdul Wasiu Aminu preached that "Islam encourages knowledge is both western and religious aspect".
Abdul Wasiu stated that combining both knowledge is tantamount to students’success in life.
His words: "Our main existence on earth is to serve God and so religion shouldn’t be forgotten in the pursuit for education.
"Students should be of guide by Al-Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet(S. A. W). You should balance academic activities with worshipping Allah simultaneously without allowing one to collide with another.
"And we sincerely hope that so many people will have a rethink on what education is in comparison to the religious teachings."
