Since we are still in first semester 2017/2018 academic session, it is appropriate to wish all Mapaites welcome back to campus. On the other end, our lecturers are the greatest educational gift any student would pray for. I am constrained to issue this write-up at this time considering the situation of our great citadel of learning.
I’m aware that issues will generate after reading through, with questions bordering on ‘what does he want’, ‘what has brought about this letter’. You will be right to ask such questions.
You must be familiar with a Yoruba saying that, "when lice abound in your clothes, your fingernails will never be dried of blood".
Am fully absorbed with the level of your brilliancy since you assumed position as the Acting Rector, of this great citadel of learning. And have been wondering that it takes a lot of effort to steer a Nigeria Higher Institution especially in this situation of the Economic and Social vices in Nigeria.
The developments that have sprung up in the polytechnic tell us more about the divine prophesies to be unfolded. As a result of this, I have decided to make my opinion known publicly on issues that burdens my heart on daily basis.
Uncontrollable tears rolled from my eye as I watched with pity, on daily basis, when the ‘greatest Mapaites’ hunt for shuttle or cab to class like when military officers lay manhunt for criminals.
At a point, while struggling for transportation they resorted in destroying their wears, whenever one of them tries to display ‘first to enter’.
It saddens my heart when I see my colleagues jumping through a shuttle window, in the name of getting to class early.
The most horrible of all, is denying the students right. Some students both at the Higher National Diploma (HND) and National Diploma (ND) have been crying for the release of their result, after years of educational hardships.
Have been to all departments, I heard my colleagues complaining, murmuring and soliloquizing in pain and anger. How on earth would a student offering Yoruba language has carryover in French.
Like a colleague when showing his grievances on social medium, titled his post "PATIENCE EXHAUSTED! GIVE US OUR RESULTS, the writer explains how unavailability of the result has caused loss to some lucrative job offers, some had their direct entry admissions truncated.
The writer went further to say they aren’t sure of their studentship (of HND PROGRAMME) in the same institution they had their ND programme.
For her students to move forward, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic must be one of the leading Institutions, if not the leading. It means that the management must be good to her students so as to be good to outsiders.
No doubt, Nigeria’s situation in the last decade had shown that the country is suffering from low economic activities. In this regard, the polytechnic school fees is not a ‘chicken change’.
Many had written several letters, appealed to the state government for reduction of our school fees, but the responses had been ‘If you think education is expensive, try ignorance’. We have chosen to follow your footsteps that is why we thought education is the best business any individual can invest on.
We are sons and daughters to the market women on the street, to the hawkers on gridlock, to the hunters in the bush, to the shoemakers on the street.
We feed on 001 meal on daily basis, most of us have been infected by Ulcer.
I felt sad when a physically challenged student approached me for accommodation’s help, all in the name of education.
The school academic calendar showed that 2017/2018 academic session begins April 26, 2018 while the deadline for school fees payment was fixed to March 12, 2018.
With plea from different quarters, the management postponed the deadline to March 26, 2018. After which will attract 10,000 penalty fees.
According to my survey, many among my colleagues in all departments, including the writer have not been able to pay the school fees. It add more to our problems when an individual who doesn’t get the stipulated amount start struggling for penalty fees.
With due respect Sir, we are your students, without the students, there is no management, without management there’s no students.
We are not begging for school fees, of course we never expect education to be free, but we are pleading for the extension of our school fees.
We had known you to be the people’s choice, your fatherly advice had make many of us resume back to school. We appreciate your effort on us, every individual can testify to your brilliancy.
Mapaites are happy to be with you, but are sad as the deadline draws nearer.

Students offering French with Yoruba carry over isn’t the fault of school nor department except the student. How many students pay attention to course form registration. We often send our log in details to business centre operators to register for us. And these operators in the cause of helping us and doing goer legitimate business registered French and Yoruba. The gullible one write exam for either and expect the other to disappear naturally. Ko le work!
Although, there are some of us with genuine complaints against the school, the best we can do is to get our self together and approach the dept. The healsman there won’t turn down the mammoth crowd of students. My submission
