Tragedy struck, as MAPOLY Final year student dies during child labor

Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic are now in a mourning mood over the death of a final year student, Miss Olatundun Alexander, who lost her life during child labor.

The Deceased, who was an HND 2 student from the department of computer science was said to have been in labor on Monday afternoon at one of the nearest hospital in the state capital.

PRESS CLUB MAPOLY gathered that late Olatundun was said to have delivered twins at Korede hospital, before complication arises where she was later referred to Federal Medical Centre, FMC Idi-aba, Abeokuta.

According to an eye witness, Bankole Damola who is also a student from civil engineering department told PRESS CLUB MAPOLY about the incident which happened at about 5pm on Monday.

He said, "I went to do a medical checkup and have some test at the hospital yesterday, but i was fortunate to witness the scene. Yesterday was a bad and mysterious day at korede Hospital.

Damola, who explained further, said the vehicle that was meant to take Olatundun to FMC for emergency treatment broke down on the midway where she gave up before them getting to the medical center doing the process.

"Perhaps she might have survived the incident because someone also tried to help with his car after the other vehicle broke down but he couldn’t meet up." He said.

Meanwhile, Students from various departments have been paying tributes to Olatundun and sending their condolence messages to the deceased family for the great loss.
