The Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun has urged students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to take advantage of the Valentine’s season to know their HIV status.
Mrs Abiodun made the call at the 2020 Valentine’s Day HIV/AIDS awareness campaign organised by Ogun State Agency for the control of AIDS(OGUNSACA) at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta.
The first lady said Governor Dapo Abiodun is passionate about education and that he is ready to do anything to promote the status of education in the state.
She noted that it is worrisome that only one of six young people know their HIV status in the country adding that it is important for the youths to be aware of HIV/AIDS and the health implications of drug abuse, smoking,drinking as well as engaging in illicit sex.
Mrs Abiodun noted that the virus can be reduced to absolute zero in Nigeria through advocacy and knowledge adding that faithful relationships should be encouraged for those who can’t abstain from sex.
"Knowing your HIV status is important for your future,for your health and that of your loved ones.Knowlege is power,It is important that we listen to the advice and information that is given on HIV such that you don’t become a victim of HIV transmission."

Mrs Abiodun admonished them to make use of the 10 10 10 rules when making decisions urging them to share love and not HIV.
The acting rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,Dr. Adeoye Odedeji in his goodwill message, lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for bringing the Institution out of its long term problems which had crippled both administrative and academic activities in the Institution describing him as “the Moses of our time”.
Odedeji appreciated the the first lady for her time and concern for the welfare of the youths in the state and most especially Mapoly Students.
