Known as Mr. White, Taoheed Adejare, a lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication has revealed the reason behind his frequent white outfits.
He disclosed that his preference for a complete white outfit from head to toe can be traced to his primary school days.
According to him, when he was in primary school, he used to admire a chief who was always on white, adding that ever since he has been praying to God to give him money to put on white like the chief.
He also chronicled how various events aside his childhood dream stoked his choice of a white outfit.
He said, “Many scenarios led me to put on white. When I was in primary five, I always admire a chief in our community who was always on white, ever since then I have always prayed to God to give me money so I can put on white like him.
“A mad man once stopped me on the road and I offered to give him money. Then he shouted that he does not need money. That I should listen, I should always put on white.
He continued, “Once, a celestial man was in a lecturer’s office on campus and was praying. I never knew he was there, so I opened the door to meet him praying. As I was about to step out so as not to disturb him, he instructed me to come back, prophesying to me to continue putting on white.
He said that although his choice for an all-white outfit have led to lots of gossip and name-calling from people on campus and off-campus, his stance on white still stands.
“Many lecturers and people on campus and outside campus have gossiped and called me names such as a fetish fellow, a cultist, but I don’t care about what people say. People also think that my white is related to my traditional title.
“I receive clothes. I buy Aso-Ebi, but I don’t put them on, rather I give it out. I am also not a type of person who fancies colour,” Mr. White said.
