…I was not invited by AMACOS- SRC Speaker
The Association of Mass Communication student (AMACOS) third public speaking competition tagged ”Pen It Say It" has commenced with several dignitaries at the event while the Students Representative Speaker, Hon.Femi Owoeye, Press Club MAPOLY observed was absent as one of the guest at the event.
PCM gathered that AMACOS failed to invite the number one students on campus who is also a student of the department as a guest officially for the public speaking competition.
The AMACOS President, Kehinde Akinbode(Kennydeal) while speaking with PCM on the absence of the SRC speaker, simply said the discussion is for another day.
"The discussion is not meant for today, it’s meant for another day". he said
PCM had earlier canceled a Press Conference earlier scheduled for today with the speaker due to the Public Speaking Competition.
In his reaction, the Students’ Representative Speaker, Femi Owoeye who was not in attendance at the event told PCM that he was not invited by AMACOS executives to the event.
Owoeye said " I was not given an invitation letter but once we are students of Mass Communication we are all invited".
Meanwhile, PCM observed that some dignitaries were invited which include 2018 and 2019 AMACOS Presidents, Oshola Khaf and Ogbonna Wisdom respectively.
Also, 2019 MAPSU PRO, Idowu Johnson, 2019 Public speaking winner, Ogunyinka Samuel among others were present at the event.
Pls don’t be hypocritical. Public Speaking or opportunity to Campaign for their Aspirants. How I wish there’s opportunity for audience’s observations and opinions.
Press Club Mapoly (PCM), don’t be biased.
