Life: We live today, tomorrow we die by Adewale Gbadamosi

Life is so epic. What is the essence of life? We live today and tomorrow we die. What is the essence of life? The worldly things we engage in has made us to forget that one day, we will surely leave this world. Have you ever for once thought about death? Anytime it comes to your mind, you might not be afraid enough thinking you are still young.

I had this inscription when I was younger but as I grew up, I realized that death is a messenger that will surely visit all mankind when their time is due. You might not know the worth of death until it takes something precious from you. Death is inevitable and also a debt which all mankind is entitled to pay.

A poem by Lenrie Peter titled ”The Panic of Growing Older” made me realize that even the old are not ready to die.

People do plan a lot of things but death wouldn’t make them fulfill them.

My fellow human being, we will be like them one day. You eat chicken, fried fish, Pizza, Sharwama and top it with soft drinks. Later, your body will be eaten by insects. Your expensive wears will become of no use to you. You live in luxurious mansion today, another house with no light awaits you in the grave. There is no replacement of our souls because it lives on after death.

People gone were once like us but soon we will be like them.

Ruminate on this. Repent, reconcile with your Creator and have a positive change of mind. Be humble, do good deeds, spread kindness, be of good example so that when you are no more, people will speak good about you and learn from your story.

Indeed we belong to God and onto Him is our return.
