LIVE UPDATE: Governor Abiodun, Deputy, Others Grace MAPOLY 15th Combined Convocation

The governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele among other distinguished personalities have graced Moshood Abiola Polytechnic MAPOLY’s 15th combined convocation.

The convocation, holding at the institution’s Otunba Gbenga Daniel, OGD hall, has over 500 graduates and families in attendance.

Among the distinguished personalities in attendance are; Olota of Ota, Abdulkabir Obalanlege, the rector of Sapaade, Dr Goke Rauf, former rector of MAPOLY, Alh Waheed Kadiri, Arc Tokunbo Fowode, Hon Afolabi Afuape among many others.

Mrs. Olubunmi Olubukola Elewodalu, the Registrar welcomed all attendees to the program.

Welcoming the governor and other guests, she called on the Governing council chairman, Prof Kamaldeen Balogun to deliver his speech.

Prince Abiodun has expressed joy as he witnessed the 15th combined convocation of the institution, announcing over 2 billion naira to be invested in MAPOLY.

In his words, this year’s convocation marks MAPOLY’s first in ten years, stressing its important in the state.

He said, “Today, I have a very tight schedule but I can’t afford to miss the special event.” He then announced his intending investments in the institution.

“We are going to construct a 500 seater classroom for the institution, we will reconstruct the road leading to the institution’s auditorium, we will also construct a building for the department of accountancy and we will construct a new block for the School of Business and Marketing studies, adding that he will also build and equip a modern library for the institution.”

He therefore said the total cost of these projects is pegged at 2 billion naira.

In the same vein, he promised to give best graduating students of the institution from 10 years ago till last year a sum of 2.5 million naira, adding that he will also donate a school bus to the institution.

Advising the students, he urged graduating students to uplift the state and country using their skills so they can be a great leader.
