Made-in-MAPOLY: Akeem Salami, Doyin Kukoyi, Omo-Baba-Tisa, Others Receive Awards of Excellence

Mr. Akeem Salami, the former President of Club MAPOLY and CEO of the Mobile Classroom App; Mrs. Adedoyin Kukoyi, host of the Gbajumo Osere TV show; Comrade Olamide Lawal, National President of the All Progressives Congress Youth League; and Adeyinka Adegbite, broadcaster and General Manager of Fresh 107.9 FM, Abeokuta, known as Ọmọ-Bàbá-Tíṣà, among others, received awards of excellence at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY).

The institution’s alumni received their awards on Wednesday while celebrating the first edition of the Made-in-MAPOLY entrepreneurs exhibition.

The event was organized to honor exceptional entrepreneurs who are graduates of the institution and have significantly impacted the Nigerian economy.

According to the Director of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, MAPCED, Mr. Baiyewu, the event was part of MAPOLY’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation among its students and alumni.

The program, themed “Skills! Not Just Degrees,” also included an exhibition session where student entrepreneurs showcased their products and services, further underscoring the institution’s dedication to nurturing entrepreneurship and self-employment.

The event featured Dr. Hafiz Oyetoro, popularly known as Simply Saka, as the guest lecturer, who discussed the theme aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic growth, aligning with MAPOLY’s mission to produce skilled and entrepreneurial graduates.

Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Oyetoro was represented by an associate, who delivered the lecture. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers and the student populace online.

In his remarks, the institution’s Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, commended the awardees for their commitment to entrepreneurship and job creation.

He stated, “Their exceptional leadership and innovation serve as an inspiration for the next generation of entrepreneurs.”

The award recipients expressed their gratitude to MAPOLY for the recognition and encouraged the students to intensify their efforts toward achieving success as well.
