The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, has approved a half-working day for members of staff ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The institution’s Rector, Arc. Dr. Koye Jolaoso, made the announcement while congratulating Muslim faithful within the polytechnic community on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir festival.
In a statement released by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola, the Rector praised Muslim staff and students for their continued commitment to the development of the institution.
He charged them to sustain the spirit of unity, sacrifice, love and dedication to service, stressing that such virtues remain essential to the growth of both the institution and the wider society.
Jolaoso also urged the Muslim Ummah to emulate the obedience and sacrificial lifestyle of Prophet Ibrahim, describing Eid-el-Kabir as a period for deep reflection on faith, charity and submission to God.
According to him, MAPOLY would continue to advance as a leading institution in vocational and technical education through collective commitment, teamwork and fear of God.
As part of preparations for the Sallah celebration, the Rector approved that work should end by 12 noon on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, for all categories of staff.
The development coincides with the Federal Government’s declaration of Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
