MAPOLY EXAMS: Anxiety, as Students bombard library

Barely a week to commencement of the first phase examinations of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, students have begun to throng the Salawu Abiola Memorial Library in preparation for the exam.

It would be recalled that, the management in the revised academic calendar fixed November 6-18 as the date for the first phase of examinations.

The first phase of the second semester examinations was scheduled for all HND students and ND1 students that are billed to embark on Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES)

Prior to the resumption of academic activities on October 23, students had deserted the school’s campus as well as their hostels for their parents’ homes.

Majority of the students, who spoke with Press club MAPOLY expressed lack of adequate preparation as they were taken unawares by the school management.

The indefinite suspension of the examination, according to the students diminished their exuberance and eagerness for the examinations.

An HND 1 student of Mass Communication, named Blessing Kpenosen claimed she is not fully prepared.

Her words, "I don’t feel prepared enough since I lost the buzz for studying."

A Food Technology student, Dabiri Adebayo also in HND 1 expressed fear due to his "average" level of preparation.

An ND 1 student of Pharmaceutical Technology, Akinyemi Olufemi had thought of obtaining a jamb form for the disagreement between the government and academic staff of MAPOLY.

Olufemi, however, termed his level of preparation as "excellent" when quizzed about it.
