The Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Arc. Dr. Babatunde Adekoyejo Jolaoso, has called on distinguished alumni to play an active role in the revitalization and development of the institution.
Arc Jolaoso made the call during a one-day training programme organized by the Lagos Chapter of the MAPOLY Alumni Association for its executive members.
According to Dr. Jolaoso, the true strength of any institution lies not just in its physical infrastructure but in the unity and impact of its graduates. He emphasized the importance of building intentional and enduring relationships between the institution and its alumni network.
“Connecting with our alumni community should go beyond casual ties. It requires purposeful unity, mutual support, and a collective drive to uplift MAPOLY and the larger society,” he said.
The Rector outlined several avenues for deepening alumni engagement, including internships, partnerships, reunions, mentorship initiatives, professional networking events, and collaborative projects. These, he noted, are critical in fostering strong ties between former students, the institution, and current learners.
He also cited the exemplary contribution of the Marketing Department Alumni, who not only built the Legacy House but also donated ₦50 million to support the institution’s development. This, he said, is a testament to how voluntary contributions—whether in time, resources, or expertise—can drive lasting impact.
Dr. Jolaoso concluded his address by reaffirming his full support for the MAPOLY Alumni community and encouraged continuous collaboration to achieve shared goals.
