Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) has restored electricity supply across its campus following the installation of two transformers provided by the Ogun State Government.
The institution’s management announced that power was successfully reconnected on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, marking a major boost to its infrastructure.
The upgrade from an 11kV to a 33kV power line is expected to significantly improve the stability and reliability of electricity on campus.
Management noted that the improved power supply will create a more conducive environment for teaching, learning, and administrative activities.
The Rector, Arc. Dr. ‘Koye Jolaoso, expressed gratitude to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for supporting the institution through the provision of the transformers.
He described the intervention as timely and impactful, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure.
He also commended stakeholders who contributed to the successful execution of the project.
While welcoming the development, the Rector urged staff and students to use electricity responsibly.
He revealed that the Polytechnic has now been classified under “Band A,” a category associated with higher tariffs due to improved and more consistent power supply.
Jolaoso emphasized the need for energy conservation, advising members of the Polytechnic community to switch off electrical appliances when not in use to avoid unnecessary expenses.
The management reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing infrastructure and service delivery, describing the restored electricity as a significant milestone in the institution’s ongoing development.
