Tomisin Takes Baton, Emerges 2025/26 Press Club MAPOLY’s President

…Jelili Gbadamosi Becomes Editor

The Press Club of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) on Monday inaugurated its newly elected executive council, with Ogunjobi Oluwatomisin emerging as the club’s new president for the 2025/26 academic session.

The ceremony, held at the institutions’ Old Mass Communication building, with Gbadamosi Opeyemi formally announced as the new Editor of the club.

The event was attended by notable personalities, including former presidents of the club, Abdulrasheed Olamide and Michael Aderenle, as well as the club’s staff adviser, Dr. M. A. Ademuyiwa.

The newly inaugurated executives include: President: Ogunjobi Oluwatomisin, Editor:Gbadamosi Opeyemi, Deputy Editor:Awe Ayomide, Associate Editor: Obiremi Firdaos, Associate Editor:Sodubi Quadri, PRO:Lawal Adetoun, Deputy PRO:Olawale Abideen, Membership Director:Magnus Isaac, General Secretary: Hussein Wahab, Financial Secretary/Welfare: Abiola Zainab

In her speech, Tomisin said she was inspired to join the Press Club by the excellence and brilliance displayed by its members.

“I saw a space I could fill. I knew there was work to be done, and I believed I could contribute something meaningful,” she said.

She emphasized that her administration would focus on growth—both for the association and for its individual members—highlighting goals such as increased visibility, stronger participation across departments, and enhanced inclusivity.

Speaking on her journey in the club, she described the Press Club as a transformative space.

“The Press Club has been like a reform room for me — a place that didn’t just care about building brands or pushing agendas, but truly invested in helping me become the best version of myself, Taking on this role felt like my own way of giving back.” She said

Dr. Ademuyiwa urged the new executives to be dedicated to their responsibilities, assuring them of his continued support whenever needed.

The ceremony formally signaled a new chapter for the Press Club as it continues its tradition of nurturing young and dynamic media practitioners on campus.
